Overview
King's College London was founded in 1829. It has five campuses, most of them in central London: Strand, Guy's, St Thomas', Waterloo and Denmark Hill in south London. Health subjects are a large part of the university, with medicine, dentistry, nursing and pharmacy, alongside humanities, law, social science and engineering.
Because the campuses are spread out, where you spend your days depends heavily on your programme. A war studies student and a dentistry student can go a whole year without sharing a building, so look at which campus your course uses before you choose housing.
Applying for 2027
All undergraduate applications, including transfers, go through UCAS. The general deadline for 2027 entry is 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time; Medicine and Dentistry use the 15 October 2026 deadline that applies to those subjects across the UK. King's says offers are released between October and May. US applicants send scores using code 6789 for the ACT, SAT and APs, and 7884 for the College Board.
Admissions tests
| Programmes | Test | When |
|---|---|---|
| Law and Politics, Philosophy and Law | LNAT | By 31 December of the admissions cycle |
| Medicine and Dentistry | UCAT | Before you apply |
| Dental Therapy and Hygiene | Casper | Dates on the course page |
King's takes only the specific test named; for example, Medicine does not accept results from other medical tests. Many health programmes then interview shortlisted applicants, and the course page explains the format. Our MMI preparation guide and situational judgement deck are built for exactly that stage.
What US and Canadian applicants need
King's publishes two routes for US high school students. Route 1 combines AP exams, honors or dual enrolment classes and an SAT or ACT score in set combinations. Route 2 uses APs only; the highest offers ask for five APs at 5. For subject requirements, an A* or A needs an AP score of 5 and a B needs a 4. AP Calculus BC covers a Mathematics requirement and AP Physics C covers Physics. Honors classes count only for students whose school offers no APs, and SAT or ACT superscores are not used.
The general entry requirements page does not list Canadian provincial diplomas, so Canadian students should check the entry requirements tab on their programme page or contact King's directly. Students who do not meet any route can look at the King's International Foundation Programme.
Fees, visas and next steps
International tuition is listed on each programme page and on the university's fees pages. Visa holders apply for the UK Student visa. Our United Kingdom guide covers how firm and insurance choices work once offers arrive.
