Names appear in your live view as students join. Press Start when the whole class is in: everyone gets the same time and finishes together.
A timer you control
Set the time limit when you make the exam. Add minutes for everyone during the exam, or end it early. Answers save as students work and hand themselves in when time is up.

Multiple choice, number and short answers are marked the moment the exam is handed in. You give the points for written answers.

Prepare an exam once from any worksheet you made or saved, or from a ready-made worksheet, and give it to any class again.

How a live exam works
- Make the exam. In teacher tools, open Exams, choose a worksheet and set the time limit. Choose whether students see their score, their score and the correct answers after the exam, or nothing.
- Give it to a class. Choose the class and "Live, together". You get a join code and a private link.
- Show the code. Put the code on the board. Students open studybrix.com/join, type the code and choose their name.
- Check that everyone is in. Your live view lists each student as they join. Remove anyone who should not be there.
- Press Start. The questions appear on every screen and the timer runs for the whole class. Watch who is writing and who has handed in.
- Get the results. Mark any written answers, then download the results or print every paper.
Prefer to let students take it at home? Choose "Open for a set time": each student gets the full time limit from when they start, until the closing time you pick.

How do students join an exam?
You give the exam to a class and get a join code of 4 letters and numbers, like AN56. Students open studybrix.com/join on any device, type the code and choose their name. You can also share a private link instead.
Can I see who has joined before I start?
Yes. In a live exam, every student who joins appears in your live view by name while they wait. When everyone is in, press Start and the timer starts for the whole class at the same time. If someone joins by mistake, remove them.
What happens when the time runs out?
Each student’s answers are saved as they work. When the time is up, the exam is handed in by itself with the answers saved so far, even if the student closed the page.
Which questions are marked automatically?
Multiple choice, number and short answers are marked as soon as the exam is handed in. Written answers wait for you to give the points.
Can I keep and reuse an exam?
Yes. Saved exams stay in your account until you delete them, and you can give the same exam to any class as many times as you like.
Can I print the exam and the results?
Yes. Download the exam paper and the answer key as PDFs, the results as a spreadsheet (CSV), or one PDF with the class results and every student’s marked paper. With the Teacher plan, prints carry no StudyBrix name or web address.
Do students need an account?
No. Students never make an account or give an email address. Exam pages set no cookies and show no ads.
