Tenths as decimals
The tenths place is one position after the decimal separator.
a/10 = a ÷ 10
86 ÷ 10 = 8.6
Divide decimals
Scale both numbers by the same power of ten.
(a × 10ⁿ)/(b × 10ⁿ) = a/b, b ≠ 0
275 ÷ 5 = 55
